Strategy :  

build iron shield ASAP...then getboots and head for a firebrand....
depending on who you are laning against, a battery can be really useful...

Next, you will either get an abyssal, shrunken or nullfire.... nullfire if they are getting away from you....abyssal if they can kill you 1v1 with normal attacks, and shrunken if you are getting stunned/killed by magic...(you should almost always end up with an abyssal after shrunken or nullfire anyway)... then its just luxury items...
